Abstract

1516321 Mechanical switches; indicators LUCAS ELECTRICAL CO Ltd 13 Nov 1975 [26 Nov 1974] 51105/74 Heading H1N In a switch having an actuator 13, 14 which is rotated to bring the contacts into one operative state and is moved axially to return the contacts to the other operative state an indicator disc 19 is rotated through interengaging parts 22, 23 to one indicating position and moves against resilient means 21 whereby the disc 19 is restored to its initial position when the parts 22, 23 are disengaged by the axial withdrawal of the actuator 13, 14. A spiral grooved cam 15 is keyed to the actuator for operation of a cam follower 16 of the contact carrier 12 and is urged inwards by a compression spring 20. After operation of the contacts by rotation of the actuator the cam follower 16 moves to the portion of the cam of greatest diameter. On withdrawal of the actuator, the follower 16 moves over the cam steps and releases the contacts.
