Abstract
1405747 Switch actuator charging mechanisms REYROLLE PARSONS Ltd 25 July 1972 [26 April 1971] 11462/71 Heading H1N [Also in Division F2] A rotary clutch of the wedge roller type is arranged to decouple the electric motor 23 from the snail cam 31 which closes the circuit breaker and compresses the "break" spring(s) 16A, when the release latch 35, under the action of setting spring 37, engages the roller 33 on the arm 21 in its recess 34. An extension 39 of the latch 35 carries an arm 40, which enters a recess 27 (Fig. 2) behind the roller 28, disengaging the clutch inner and outer members 26, 25 as the latch 35 moves into the set position. Instead of the snail cam a linear screw mechanism may be used in co-pending application 30069/72. The circuit breaker is of the vacuum type having a bridging member 16 carrying moving contacts 12. Springs 18 maintain contact pressure as the contacts wear.
