Abstract

1278217 Mechanical switches ETABS AESUP and MEFINA SA 14 Jan 1971 [15 Jan 1970] 1914/71 Heading H1N A push-button switch comprises a body 1 containing a rotary disc 2 having on one side dog-teeth 3 co-operating with the push-button 15, and on the other side two series of recesses 4, 5, of different depths co-operating with at least one contact 22, disc 2 and body 1 having an axial passage passing through the body from one side . to the other. The switch is intended to be mounted on the end of an electric motor of small diameter with a mechanical part or fluid &c. passing through the switch. Depression of pushbutton 15 depresses push-button end 14 which moves end 13 of annular lever 7 which pivots about its axle 8 causing a pin 10, urged by spring 11 against dog-teeth 3, to rotate disc 2. Rotation of disc 2 causes recesses 4 or 5 (also in Fig. 4, not shown) to engage end 26 of plunger 24, urged against disc 2 by elastic washer 25, and if deep recess 4 engages end 26 (as shown in Fig. 2) end 26 is urged into recess 4 and movable bridging contact 22 is allowed to bridge fixed contacts 21 under the action of spring 28, if shallow recess 5 engages end 26, extension 27 on plunger 24 depresses contact 22 to break the circuit. Pushbutton 15 and washer 25 are fluid-tight. The switch may have several contacts operated simultaneously or in staggered manner.
