Abstract

1515996 Exhaust passages NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 1 April 1976 [25 April 1975] 13237/76 Heading F1B [Also in Division B3] A cylinder head has an exhaust passage defined by a double metal-walled tubular liner 14 having an insulating space between the walls into which, in use, secondary air can enter via inlet 14g, be heated and expelled via outlets 14h to promote oxidation of the exhaust gases. A further insulating space 26 between the liner and the body of the cylinder head may be air-filled or filled with moulding sand. The cylinder head body is cast around the liner and a band of green moulding sand which forms the space 26 (see Division B3).
