Abstract
1515744 Converting reciprocating motion into rotary motion M G TORNABENE 16 May 1975 21050/75 Heading F2Q [Also in Division F1] A device for converting wave motion in a body of water into useable energy comprises float means carried on a vertically extending rack 13 to cause vertical reciprocating motion of the rack in response to wave motion, the rack co-operating with pinion means arranged to drive an output shaft through a transmission, the transmission or the rack and pinions including unidirectional drive means so that the output shaft is driven in both directions of movement of the rack 13, and the float means including a float 23 and a spherical additional mass element 22.
