Abstract

1515728 Diapers COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 28 July 1975 [5 Aug 1974] 31473/75 Heading A5R A diaper 1 comprises a generally rectangular main pad assembly 2 having an absorbent pad 24, and an auxiliary pad assembly 3 movable between positions on opposite sides of the central part of and overlying the main pad assembly. The diaper has fold lines 6, 7 and 8, 9 spaced inwardly from sides 10, 11 to define a box pleat, said pleat being secured in the crotch region by adhesive at 12, 13, which adhesive may also secure the auxiliary pad assembly. At least one of the inner sheet, pad 24, and the auxiliary padding 26 may be treated with deodorants, medicaments, emollients, wetting agents, salves, perfumes, bactericides, germicides, powders or surfactants. The pads 24, 26 may comprise pulverised wood pulp, cellulose wadding, cellular foam or sponge, for example. The backing sheet may comprise polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene or polyvinyl chloride and may be laminated. In a modification, the auxiliary pad assembly comprises a transverse central pleat of the main pad.
