Abstract

1514963 Inductors and transformers GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 16 May 1975 [3 June 1974] 20862/75 Heading HIT A coil for inductive apparatus comprises disc type coil sections 122, 124, 126, 128, the high potential end 22 being connected to an insulated static plate 56 and the other end 44 being connected to additional coil sections or to neutral or ground potential, electrostatic shielding in the form of copper or aluminium strips 46, 48, 50, 52, which may be insulated, being wound between the inner pair of turns of each coil section, strip 52 being omitted if no additional coil sections are used. Additional strips (Fig. 4, not shown) may be wound between the outer turns of each coil section, or the strips may be wound berween the strands of the innermost or of the innermost and outermost turns if turns each comprising a number of insulated strands are used.
