Abstract

1514761 Controlling elevators CHRYSLER UNITED KINGDOM LTD 15 April 1976 [14 May 1975] 20417/75 Heading B8L The platform of a vehicle hoist is powered for vertical movement by a piston 12 and a cylinder 13 within a vertical pillar 17 at one corner of the platform and hoist support structure, the piston 12 carrying an adjustable screw 27 which when the platform reaches a lower limit position, displaces an operating arm 18 to close the hydraulic supply valve from the cylinder 13 whereby lowering of the platform is halted. Hydraulic fluid is supplied to, released from or locked in the cylinder 13 by an hydraulic valve arrangement controlled by a link 21 pivoted to the arm 18, the latter being secured to a pivot shaft 15 to which a handle 14 is also secured whereby manual actuation of the link 21 can be effected. The other corners of the platform are supported by vertical pillars incorporating a suitable arrangement of pulleys and cables.
