Abstract

1296124 Stretchers HYDRAUL-VERKEN AB 5 March 1970 [13 March 1969] 10547/70 Heading A5X [Also in Divisions B8 and E2] A combination comprises a stretcher and two stretcher handling devices between which the stretcher is transferable, wherein the stretcher comprises a stretcher bed having on its underside a fastening device comprising two transversely directed cylinders 13, 14 one of which 14 is eccentrically mounted for rotation, whereby the distance between the axes of the cylinders can be varied; the first stretcher handling device includes a supporting member 6 formed with two opposed part-cylindrical recesses 17, 18 directed away from one another, whereby the stretcher can be clamped to the first handling device by closing the cylinders together; and the second stretcher handling device includes a supporting member formed with two opposed part-cylindrical recesses 24, 25 directed towards one another, whereby the stretcher can be clamped to the second handling device by opening the cylinders apart. The cylinder 14 is rotated by means of an operating lever 15 and it is surrounded by a freely rotatable sleeve 16 which can be made of a resilient material such as rubber or plastics. The first handling device is a wheeled carriage for moving the stretcher and the member 6 having the recesses is a frame which can be swung to any desired angle relative to a plate 5 to which it is pivoted near one end, the frame being held in any desired position by a linkage 8. The plate 5 is attached to a hydraulically operated jack which is itself is mounted on wheels. The other handling device is a lifting and lowering device for lowering the stretcher into a bath or lifting it therefrom and which comprises a hydraulic jack having a downwardly extending support arm carrying the supporting member which comprises a fork which has two legs 23 provided with the recesses 24, 25.
