Abstract
1514093 Steel sheet for enamelling NIPPON STEEL CORP 27 Jan 1976 [28 Jan 1975] 02999/76 Heading C7A and C7D Sheet for enamelling is produced by tapping a steel containing 0À05-0À4 wt. per cent Mn, reducing the C content e.g. by vacuum degassing, to #0.015%, and adjusting the composition to provide 0À01-0À3% Ti and 0À02-0À04% S, with a Y value within the range -0À05 to +0À05, where The cast steel is then hot-rolled, cold-rolled and continuously annealed. The size of the TiS particles should fall within the range 0.1Á to 20Á. Preferably after decarburization the bath is given a preliminary deoxidation with aluminium to provide an oxygen content #0À015%, after which sulphur is added as FeS and titanium as ferrotitanium. The additions may be made before or during pouring, or may be made to the core of the slab or ingot after the outer shell has solidified. After hot-rolling the sheet is coiled at #800‹C preferably #730‹C, cold-rolled with 30-90% reduction, and annealed at 650-950‹C.
