1511791 Contact for gas blast interrupter ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 14 Feb 1977 [18 Feb 1976] 6456/76 Heading H1N A tubular contact member 4 or 10 for a gas blast interrupter has a tubular structure 7 or 13 of magnetic material within it, but spaced from its inner surface and connected to it at the nozzle end 11. The magnetic structure may be a steel tube or may be made up of segments; and insulating spacers may be provided between it and the contact members. Its purpose is to lengthen the arc by increasing the magnetic field strength.
