1507782 Electro-plating gold LEA-RONAL Inc 13 April 1976 15151/76 Heading C7B Diffusion of a base metal substrate into an Au electro-deposited coating thereon is inhibited by interposition of an electro-deposited barrier layer of W-Ni or W-Co. This latter may be deposited from a bath containing a chelating agent (e.g. citric acid, EOTA, amino trimethyl phosphonic acid) to a thickness of e.g. 1 micron, and may contain 40-50%W.
