Abstract
1303712 Uniting metallic powder by electrodeposition; electro-phoretic deposition DR W KAMPSCHULTE & CIE 6 Jan 1971 [7 Jan 1970] 639/71 Heading C7B Metal or alloy (e.g. Al, W, Mo, Ta) powder is secured to a conductive substrate, e.g. Ni plated stainless steel or brass sheet, by applying the powder thereto, e.g. by sprinkling or electrophoretic deposition, and uniting by electrodepositing a metal or alloy, e.g. Ni, Cu, Pb, Zn, Au, Ag, Fe, Co, brass, bronze or Ag, Au or Pt alloy, from an electrolyte, preferably containing a wetting agent and having a pH between 2 and 6. An electro-phoretic deposition bath may contain alcohol, NiCl 2 and Ta powder. Prior to applying the powder, the substrate may be cathodically, then anodically degreased, and pre-Ni plated. A bath containing NiCl 2 , H 3 BO 3 and brightener is specified.
