Time-limit devices; electric-motor actuation.- A relay, with an adjustable time-limit, for maintaining an electric traction supply for a given time after the demand has ceased, consists of a cam member 11 on a shaft 10 carrying a magnetic clutch disk 9 which, when the clutch is energized, connects the shaft to the slow-speed wheel 6 of a train of reduction gear 6, 5, 3, 4 driven by a small fan motor 1. After a certain time depending upon the initial position of an adjustable back-stop 12 against which the cam member normally rests, the cam is driven by the gear train to press a contact 13 against a fixed contact 14. When the clutch is de-energized, the shaft 10 is uncoupled and, under the action of the spiral spring 15, is brought back, unretarded, to the initial position in which the cam rests against the back-stop.
