Abstract
In the event of the pressure line bursting, the difference between the pressures upstream and downstream of an orifice (10) of the pipe-burst safety device increases. The pressure in a space (b) thereby increases so that a piston (1) is pressed down against a spring (7) and a closing section (3) closes a passage (2). Until a damping section (5) of the piston (1) connected to the closing section (3) by means of a rod (4) closes a first aperture of the line (11), the closing stroke runs rapidly, then more slowly under the damping action of a choke (13). A line (16) is used for the parallel connection to the pipe-burst safety device of any further cylinder. Compared with known safety devices, the response instant, which cannot be adjusted from outside and is virtually independent of viscosity, as well as the at first rapid, but then damped, closing action are advantageous. <IMAGE>
