Abstract

150,528. Welch, J. S. Aug. 26, 1919. Wire, cord, &c. strainers for the cord or wire of a. tennis net comprise a, lever A provided with a bifurcated end B having projecting pins C adapted to engage the teeth E of a double rack D secured by means of a base-plate F to the tennis-net post H. The cord J is tied to the lever, the pins are caused to engage any pair of the teeth E, and the lever is pressed downwards until the cord passes beyond the vertical, whereupon the tension on the rope draws the lever into contact with the post to hold the cord taut.
