Abstract
1505266 Distributing fluid to heat exchangers ATLANTIC RICHFIELD CO 30 June 1975 27576/75 Heading F4S A header apparatus for distributing a liquidvapour mixture of fluid into at least two separate streams for separate flows through a heat exchange system or other processing equipment (not shown) comprises a vessel 10 into which the fluid flows through an inlet 11 and is distributed through pipes 12 after separation into different phases, the vapour passing into the open upper ends of the pipes and the liquid accumulating in the base of the vessel up to or beyond the level of apertures 13 therein for mixture in the pipes and flow to the heat exchange system. Direct flow of the mixture to the open ends of the pipes from the inlet is substantially prevented by a splash baffle 14 above the pipes, end an additional prevention means may be provided comprising a single aperture large plate or as shown individual apertured plates 16 above the pipes.
