Force-transmitting mechanism. - Equalizing- mechanism for two pairs of brakes on motorvehicles &c. comprises two sets of differential gearing arranged co-axially one outside the other, one set being interposed between each brake-lever and its corresponding pair of brake-rods. A transverse shaft A, actuated bv the hand-brake lever, carries radial arms C on which are mounted bevel pinions D gearing with bevel pinions F, F<2> carried by sleeves E, E<2> provided with levers H, H<2> to which one pair of brake-rods are connected. The levers K, K<2> connected to the other pair of brakerods, are carried by sleeves J, J<2> mounted on the sleeves E, E<2> and provided with pinions L, L<2> gearing with pinions M carried by a casing 0 which is rotated bv a lever P connected to the foot-brake pedals. The whole mechanism can float between springs G. The casing preferably contains lubricant and is fed through a passage A<2> in the shaft A.
