Abstract

1501336 Carpets F D LE MESURIER 30 March 1976 12827/76 Heading A4S A carpet edging strip comprises a first face 14 for engaging a wall or, as shown, a skirting board 34 and an element 20 inclined to and forming a carpet-edge-engaging recess 22 with the opposite face 12 of the strip. An elongate tooth 26 grips the carpet strip 40. The top 18 of the edging strip web 10 may be curved, Fig. 2 (not shown). The edging strip may be nailed or screwed to the wall or skirting board or, preferably, it may be adhesively secured by a double-sided adhesive tape, and the carpet strip 40 may also be secured to the edging strip by a double-sided adhesive tape. The element 20 may comprise a horizontal portion extending from the web 10 and an oblique or vertical portion. The edging strip may be a resilient plastics or an aluminium extrusion or it may be an injection moulding and may provide a mitred corner piece. The tooth 26 may be omitted.
