Abstract

1500660 Abrasive wheels INOUE-JAPAX RESEARCH Inc 15 Sept 1976 [17 Sept 1975] 38114/76 Heading B3D [Also in Division C7] An electrochemical grinding wheel 3 has a metallic contact ring 4 secured thereto by means of a nonconducting adhesive resin (5) containing conductive particles. These particles may be of carbon or metal and may be of irregular shape e.g. dendritic, whiskers or spherical-crystalline with a size of 0À1-100 microns. Conventional conductive wheel materials are referred to for electrolytic, electrolytic/spark discharge or electrolytic/mechanical grinding. The wheel may be secured via insulating sleeves and rings 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, 8, 14 on a spindle 6. Slip ring 10 engages stationary brush 11, and is pressed against the metal ring 4.
