Abstract

Bands, strengthening; lids; knock-down boxes: tampering with, preventing and detecting.-In a wire-bound box, a single wire 11, 15, Fig. 1, is bent to form two parallel binders, the connecting- portion 13 being arranged to constitute one element of a hinge for the lid. The other element of the hinge is formed by wires 21, 22 having extensions 20 adapted to be passed through loops 10 at the ends of the wire 11, 15, in order tc secure the box lid. The wire fastening may be sealed to prevent tampering. In a modification, separate binding-wires are secured to each of the portions 1, 2, 3, 4, Fig. 3, of the box, each of the binding-wires having a portion serving a binge connexion between two parts of the box. Two or more binding-wires, arranged as described, may be secured to each side of the box. Specification 8071/03, [Class 133. Trunks &c.]. is referred to.
