Abstract

1500573 Web feeding DATA PRODUCTS CORP 27 March 1975 [4 April 1974] 12976/75 Heading B8R [Also in Division B6] A paper web is fed through printing apparatus incrementally under control of paper feed command pulses issued from logic 88, each paper feed command pulse incrementing a counter 80, the movement of the paper web being sensed by a transducer 70 which also supplies pulses to the counter 80, whereby in the event of a paper jam the counter issues a paper fault signal to inhibit the generation of paper feed command pulses. Under conditions of correct paper feed, the pulses from the transducer 70, which may comprise a code wheel driven by a friction wheel 52 in contact with the web, reset the counter after each paper feed command pulse, but in the event of a paper jam, the counter continues to count until a count of seven is reached, when the paper fault signal is issued to stop the paper feed command pulses and to set an indicator 96 to alert an operator.
