Abstract

1500502 Raising and lowering trailer load platforms C M PARSONS 24 April 1975 [25 April 1974] 18072/74 Heading B8E A trailer comprises a sub-frame 1 pivoted about a first axis on a pair of wheels 4, a loadsupporting framework 8 pivotally connected at its ends to the sub-frame 1 and a draw bar 21 respectively, there being a link 30 pivotally connected at its ends to the sub-frame 1 and draw bar 21 respectively. Fig. 2 shows the draw bar 21 being pivoted in the direction of arrow B so that links 30, running in bar girders 9, 10 of frame-work 8, turn pairs of plates 1, 2 of the sub-frame resulting in the lifting of the left hand end of the frame-work 8 due to lifting of pivot pins 16. Fig. 2 shows the pivot axis of subframe 1 coinciding with the rotation axis of the wheels 4, however the pivot axis 5, Fig. 3, may be defined by a shaft to which plates 1, 2 are rigidly secured, which shaft is pivotally supported in lugs secured to the axle 3 which may be detachable as a unit with wheels 4.
