1497608 Variable resistors WILHELM RUF KG 1 May 1975 [2 May 1974] 18209/75 Heading HIS A variable resistor device comprises a resistive track 3<SP>1</SP> arranged on a base-plate 11<SP>1</SP> and a collector track 12<SP>1</SP> spaced both laterally and vertically from track 3<SP>1</SP>, the tracks being contacted by a wiper 8<SP>1</SP> of a slider 5<SP>1</SP> which, on the side opposite to wiper 8<SP>1</SP>, has integral resilient tongues 6<SP>1</SP> which are biased towards a housing cover 22. Interposed between tongues 6<SP>1</SP> and cover 22 are a plastics platelet 13, which moves with slider 5<SP>1</SP>, and a screening plate 14, of hard paper, secured to cover 22 by flanges (17, Fig. 5, not shown). As shown a stabilizing guide extension 10 is provided integral with slider 5<SP>1</SP>; in a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) the device comprises two parallel ganged variable resistor arrangements and extension 10 is omitted.
