Abstract

1497522 Tin-containing alloy electro-deposits OXY METAL INDUSTRIES CORP 9 June 1976 [10 June 1975 1 March 1976] 23893/76 Heading C7B An electro-plate simulating bright Cr is deposited from an aqueous bath containing Co and/or Ni and/or Fe ions together with Sn ions and a gluconate and/or glucoheptonate. The coating is less then 5Á thick and may be applied to metals or metallized plastics. Zn ions may also be added. Operation at pH 4-10 at 75-140‹F is specified. Examples relate to all-sulphate baths at pH 10 and an all-chloride bath at pH 7 and containing also 3,3-dithiodipropionic acid and trisodium citrate.
