Abstract

1495798 Floor or roof construction DECKS INC 3 Oct 1975 [18 Oct 1974] 40455/75 Heading E1W A floor or roof construction comprises purlins 30 supporting further purlins 20, of sheet metal, and of generally box-section, with a flat base and sides, and one (continuous) or more slots in the upper face, to which boards 12 are fixed by clips 40, the boards being surmounted by a concrete layer 15 reinforced by mesh 14. Upper layers 16 and 17 of e.g. roofing felt and asphalt, surmounted by tar and gravel may be provided in a roof construction, or the concrete layer may be waterproofed with a plastics membrane. The concrete may include gypsum. The clips 40 are of sheet metal and have slotted sides which engage with the edges of the, or each slot in the further purlins. A layer 18 of foamed material e.g. polystyrene is fixed, e.g. glued over the boards 12, which may be of gypsum plasterboard.
