Abstract

1494653 Semi-conductor devices GENERAL ELECTRIC CO Ltd 7 June 1976 [23 July 1975] 30794/75 Heading H1K In an optical imaging CCD, comprising an array of electrodes 3 on one surface of a semiconductor substrate 1, the other substrate surface has a recess 5 below the array of electrodes 3, and the substrate 1 is secured to a support 8 in register with an opening in the support through which light reaches the substrate. The support 8 may be an integrated circuit package, connected to the CCD via leads 10, and secured to the substrate 1 by a layer of high temperature epoxy resin 7. The integrated circuit may also have a number of lead-out conductors which act as connectors to a further circuit, or which act to support the device on a further apertured carrier.
