Abstract

1492911 Chipboard RY AB 5 March 1976 [7 March 1975] 08915/76 Heading C3N [Also in Division B3] A method of producing a flat pressed chip board with a relief pattern surface comprises subjecting the surface to abrasion by means of rotary steel brushes as the chip board emerges from a press. The chip board may have 10% to 50% of the chips having a length of 10 to 25 mm., and the chips, at least at the surface, may consist of different kinds of wood, for example, oak or beech chips together with chips of pinewood. Chips of different glue content for example, chips having a glue proportion of 0-8% by weight calculated as dry glue in dry chips may be mixed with chips normally glued, i.e. 8-16% by weight, in the surface. The steel brushes tear away the less glued chips to provide the relief pattern.
