1490024 Cleaning gramophone records METROSOUND AUDIO PRODUCTS Ltd 21 July 1975 30474/75 Heading A4F [Also in Division D1K] A device for cleaning and anti-static treatment of gramophone records comprises a rotating member such as a roller mounted on a shaft 9 journalled in a housing 1 with part of its periphery exposed, the treating member having a covering 14 of a material such as velvet to remove dust from a record and, at another part of its periphery, a covering 13 of a material to remove static from a record and means for releasably securing the treating member against rotation. The covering 13 may be a woven material incorporating electrically-conductive yarns, e.g. a material having nylon-steel staple fibre yarn wefts and polypropylene warps. Polyurethane foam may underlie coverings 13, 14. When a button 21 is pressed against the bias of a spring 22 a key-hole slot 16 in a bar 17 is moved so as to release a flatted portion 15 of journal 9 to allow the roller to rotate so as to expose one or other of the coverings 13, 14. A snap-on cover 23 may be provided.
