Abstract

1489578 Valves IMPERIAL METAL INDUSTRIES (KYNOCH) Ltd 6 Jan 1975 [5 Oct 1973] 46583/73 Heading F2V In a check valve for a gas main a closure member 52 is pivoted about an axis inclined from the vertical in two planes mutually perpendicular so that it has a tendency to close even when opened fully and aligned with the valve passage. The closure member is carried by a pivoted arm 74 and the pivot is mounted on a seat member 50. The seat/closure unit is mounted in the valve housing by a spigot 54 and socket 46 arrangement. The unit is retained by bolts 64 engaging in bores 62 which intercept the spigot to form tangential grooves 58 on the surface thereof.
