[Also in Division B8] A multiway valve for pipe-lines in pneumatic conveyers for pulverent and granular materials comprises a valve casing 1 with two diverging pipe connections 2, 3 in one face thereof and a third pipe connection 4 in the opposite face, either of the diverging connections 2, 3 being closable by a common swivelling member 5 mounted on a swivel arm 11 which is hinged on a pivot pin 15 mounted in bearings in the casing 1 between the two pipe connections 2, 3. The swivelling member 5 in the shape of a sector which may substantially comprise e.g. a steel pipe is provided at the ends with flat seals 6 which are located thereon by means of projections 7 on the seal 6 and grooves 8 on the member 5. The swivel arm 11 is received in a recess 10 in the member 5 and is secured therein by means of a pin 14 and circlips 13. The fit between the arm 11 and the member 5, and between the arm 11 and the pin 14 is loose enough to ensure proper seating of the seals 6 on sealing insertions 12 screwed on to the ends of the pipe connections 2, 3. Armour plating may be provided on the swivelling member 5 and may project beyond the face of the seals 6. The valve may be operated and locked by means of either an oil-hydraulic actuation 17, Fig. 2 (not shown), or a hand-operated weighted lever arm. In a further embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the swivelling member is in the form of a sphere and the sealing insertions on the pipe connections shaped to receive this. In a final embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the swivelling member is similar to that first disclosed, but the sealing elements have conical seating faces and the pipe connection sealing insertions are correspondingly shaped.
