Alarms, high and low water.-A wheatstone bridge arranement indicates at a distance when the level of a liquid is above an upper or below a lower limit. The fourth arm c, f of the bridge illustrated comprises a high resistance V and the resistance of the liquid. It is shortcircuited when the liquid rises above the electrode Pa, and interrupted when the liquid falls below the electrode Pi. When the level is between these two limits a null .effect is obtained in the signalling apparatus. The resistance V is large enough to mask any changes in the resistance of the liquid or of the earth connexions.
