[Class 40 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] Liquid level in a tank is indicated by the variation of weight of liquid in a trough connected to the tank by a flexible tube, the effective cross-sectiontal area of which is decreased when the apparatus is inclined. The trough 2 may be outside the tank 1 and is carried by a strap 41 supported by a pile of graphite washers 43, and the variation of intensity of current passing through the washers is indicated on a dial 23.
