Abstract

1488189 Water jet propulsion HYDRO-TECH CORP 9 July 1975 [1 Aug 1974] 28809/75 Heading B7V A water-jet marine propulsion unit comprises a pump having a double-suction impeller 104 with two inlets 144, 146 and an exhaust 166, the inlets being formed by sidewalls 162, 164 and pump casing parts 158 and 160 and presenting a first leading edge 152 to the inlet 144 and a first trailing edge 154 positioned behind and below the edge 152, when the unit is stationary, and a second leading edge to the inlet 146, which is the edge 154, and a second trailing edge 161 which is behind and above the first leading edge 152. The unit is adapted to be mounted outboard on a hull 153 and driven by an inboard engine via a splined shaft 36.
