Abstract

1487205 Pipe joint WIRSBO BRUKS AB 14 July 1975 [1 Aug 1974 28 April 1975] 18405/74 and 17572/75 Heading F2G In a pipe coupling, a tube end 50, e.g. of polyethylene, is received on to a nipple portion 16 of a body and enclosed by ring means 21 having a single split and inter-engaged with the body; the tube end being retained within the annular gap defined between the nipple and ring by clamping means carried by the ring means. The ring means may inter-engage with the body via screw-thread means 19, 23 or alternatively by the inter-engagement of one or more annular flanges and grooves formed upon the engaging surfaces of each. Preferably the inner surface of the ring means, or this surface together with the outer surface of the nipple, are provided with annular ribs, e.g. 26, for engaging the tube end, and one or more annular sealing rings (not shown) may be housed within suitable recesses in the nipple surface. The coupling may be formed of a non-corrosive material or treated to render it such by dip coating in a surface treating powdered agent.
