Abstract

1487196 Cleaning vehicle lamp lenses DUCELLIER ET CIE 6 Sept 1974 [3 Oct 1973] 38987/74 Heading A4F A vehicle or other lamp is provided with a wiper system for a part spherical surface of the lamp lens 4 and comprising a wiper blade 12 fitted to a rigid mount 11 oscillatable by an arm 5 about an axis parallel to a line joining the centre of the lens 4 to the centre of curvature of its part spherical surface, the mount 11 having an arcuate curvature of radius smaller than that of the part spherical surface and being mounted for pivotal movement, e.g. by hinge members 9, 10 connecting it to a yoke 7, about an axis which intersects the axis of oscillation and is parallel to the plane containing the arc of the mount is the pivotal movement being such that the plane in which the mount 11 is arcuately curved always remains perpendicular to the radius of the part spherical lens surface passing through the centre of curvature of the mount 11. In a second embodiment, the arm 5 and the yoke 14, Fig. 4 (not shown) are of spring wire and an end of the arm 5 is coiled as a spring (5c) fitted on to the wiper shaft and urging the wiper blade against the lamp lens.
