Abstract

1487033 Pipe cutting and chamfering; wheel cutters G BASTIANSEN 15 Dec 1975 [19 Feb 1975] 51233/75 Headings B3T and B3W A pipe cutting and chamfering tool comprises two cutting wheels 17, 18 angularly spaced in the same plane and between which there is located a chamfering cutter 21, the wheels and cutter being supported on a displacement part of the tool which is slidable on a body portion 1 which carries a pair of pipe supporting rollers 2, 3. The displaceable part, which is formed by two opposite-hand connected portions 11, 12, is movable by way of a threaded spindle 6 which co-operates with a lever-like thread engaging member 7, 10 which is releasable to permit rapid adjustment of the displaceable part relative to the body portion 1. The chamfering cutting 21 is adjustable by a threaded screw 22 which provides the cutter feed. The tool is mounted on the pipe to be cut and chamfered, the cutting forces produced by the wheels 17, 18 being supported by the rollers 2 and 3.
