Abstract

1486150 Axial-flow fans MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KK 26 June 1975 27081/75 Heading F1C A rotor for an axial-flow machine, e.g. an axialflow fan, comprises adjustable pitch blades each having a spindle 5 extending radially of the rotor hub 2 and retained by a nut or other retainer 6, a thrust roller bearing 72 being accommodated in an annular liquid-tight chamber 75 open on its radially inward side facing the nut 6, seal means, e.g. O- rings 74, being provided at the radially inner edges of the chamber in contact with the nut. Leakage of lubricant from the bearing is thereby prevented. As shown, the side of the annular chamber 75 adjacent the blade spindle 5 is closed by a sleeve 76 screwed into the rotor hub 2. Instead, an annular insert of inverted U cross-section may be provided within the annular chamber 75 to surround the bearing 72.
