Abstract

1485849 Electrotherapeutic apparatus HAKUJU INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH SCIENCE CO Ltd 25 Nov 1974 50994/74 Heading A5R Electrotherapeutic apparatus for effecting treatment by means of an electric field comprises means for producing an output of superposed AC and DC voltages and applying the output to spaced electrodes between which a patient is positioned. In the apparatus of Figs. 9 and 11, an AC source Eo is connected to the primary winding 4 of a transformer T housing secondary windings L, and L 3 connected in series through a rectifier S and resistance R. Terminal T 3 is connected to an electrode 1 mounted by insulating material 2 on a support 3 and spaced from an earthed plate electrode 4 connected to terminal 4. In a modified circuit (Fig. 14 not shown) separate auto transformers are provided so that the DC and AC voltages may be independently adjusted.
