Abstract

1485599 Alkali metal phosphates from wet process phosphoric acid HOECHST AG 14 June 1976 [28 June 1975] 24527/76 Heading C1A Aqueous alkali metal phosphate solutions are obtained from wet process phosphoric acid contaminated with vanadium by treating the acid with iron II carbonate, iron II oxide and/or iron II hydroxide to reduce the vanadium to its third or fourth oxidation state, the vanadium is then precipitated as an iron-vanadyl-phosphate complex by at least partially neutralizing with an alkali metal hydroxide and/or carbonate and the precipitate separated off.
