Abstract

1485330 Laying fabrics CUTTERS MACHINE CO INC 22 Dec 1975 [21 Aug 1975] 52465/75 Heading D1S A tuck blade 28 is used in a cloth laying machine 10 for laying cloth, which is fed from a roll 16, over a table 13 wherein the blade 28 is defined by an upright flange 29 and a horizontal blade portion 30 which is so shaped that a mid-portion 33 of it projects relative to its opposite end portions 34 in the direction of forward movement of the machine 10, the free edge 32 of the portion 30 being non-linear. The portion 33 projects preferably about half an inch beyond the portion 34. In use, a stretching cloth web 17 is fed from the roll 16 via a dancer bar 18, guide roll 19 and a driven cloth feed roll 20 to the cloth laying unit 21 wherein wrinkles 40 on the cloth 17 are removed by the blade 28 to be then laid upon the laying or cutting table 13. A catch mechanism 25 having a catch bar 26 cooperates with the laying unit 21 to form folds in the layers 23.
