Abstract

148,505. Isabellenhutte Ges. Feb. 3, 1917, [Convention date]. Alloys composed of copper, manganese, silicon, and iron in which the copper content is at least 50 per cent are obtained by fusing silicon with iron, manganese, and copper, or with an alloy of these metals, or by fusing ferro-silicon with an iron-manganese copper alloy or with copper and ferro-manganese. The alloys may contain 0.5 to 13 per cent of silicon. One or more other metals, e.g. tin, zinc, or aluminium, may be added, and in such cases the silicon may be added in the form of an alloy with the additional metal. Specifications 6172/84 and 803/87 are referred to.
