Roller bearings.-To prevent wear at the ends of the rollers of a roller bearing due to the rollers turning so that their axes are not parallel, the outer race is cut away at both sides, leaving a cylindrical bearing-surface e of less length than the rollers. The cut-away portions may be bevelled, as shown, or cylindrical.
