Abstract

128,366. Weller, S. B. June 15, 1918. Roller bearings.-The outer race of a roller bearing for connecting- rods &c. consists of a number of rings B each of which has a gap enabling it to be passed over the journal D. The rings are rotated relatively to present a continuous bearing-surface and secured together by projections on the housing A engaging slits in the rings or by other means. The rollers C may be guided by plates F<1>, F<2> secured to the rings B or to the journal D. In a modification, the rings B are divided and are arranged so as to break joint. They are clamped in position by a divided housing A.
