1484722 Load responsive brakes AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS Ltd 31 Jan 1975 [4 Feb 1974 21 June 1974] 05031/74 and 27662/74 Heading F2F In a method of setting the resultant spring load on the plunger 12 of a load-responsive brake pressure varying device comprising a plunger 12 movable by liquid pressure to control the pressure at which the device comes into operation and including a first spring 19 or spring group opposing movement of the plunger by the liquid and a linkage incorporating a second spring 24 or spring group acting to oppose the first spring or spring group the first spring 19 is set to a predetermined load with the second spring 24 inoperative, a jig 32 is incorporated to establish a relation between parts of the linkage which enables the second spring 24 to be incorporated without being subjected to the loading of the first spring 19, the second spring is then set to a predetermined condition and the jig is removed.
