Abstract
1483136 Mounting crystal resonators STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 14 Aug 1975 33866/75 Heading H1E A method of mounting a flat piezoelectric crystal element 17 comprises the steps of forming in a flat sheet of metal 12 sets of clip members 10, 11 (one set only shown), each clip member having a stem 10a, 11a, a fingered portion 10b, 11b and a severable neck 10f, 11f; welding the stems of a set of clips to the ends of a set of wires 15, 16 which pass through and are bonded in an insulating base 14; severing the necks of the welded clips the fingers of which point to the centre of the crystal element, at least one finger of each clip (e.g. 10c, 10e, 11d) being cranked offset from the plane of the original sheet 12 by an amount equal to the thickness of the crystal element whereby the latter may be located and held by the fingers in the plane of the wires 15, 16. Conductive bonding paste may be applied. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown), a set of three clips each having two fingers is used.
