Abstract

1482863 Piecing arrangement in carding machines TOYODA JIDOSHOKKI SEISAKUSHO KK 1 Sept 1975 [4 Sept 1974] 35953/ 75 Heading D1N In a carding machine with a doffer 1 a group of rollers 11, 12, 13 behind the doffer and calender rollers 2 an openable cover 3 extends at least over the doffer and the group of rollers and a piecing arrangement comprising a turntable plate 4, which at least during piecing extends in the machine direction to guide the web, cooperates through a connector, e.g. belt 9, so that the plate is brought from a downwardly extending position to the above web guiding position when the cover 3 is opened. The connector can alternatively be a link mechanism, or a belt whose ends are fixed to the pulleys 6 and 8 which are respectively associated with cover 3 and the web guide plate. The connector may be adjustable. A tandem carding machine Fig. 6 (not shown) may have two such piecing arrangements.
