Abstract

1482639 Clutch plates BRITISH LEYLAND UK Ltd 2 Oct 1974 [13 Oct 1973] 47916/73 Heading F2U In a clutch plate having springs 8 in apertures 3 of a flange 2 of a hub member 1 which act an annular plates 4 and 5 to provide a resilient connection between the friction linings and member 1, abutments are provided to interconnect flange 1 and plates 4 and 5 on the torque exceeding a certain value. These abutments comprise portions 9 pressed out of plates 4 and 5, which portions abut the edge of an aperture 3 after the springs 8 have been compressed to a certain degree, the abutments then transmitting the torque, there only being two springs 8 provided. The annular plate 5 is dished to throw oil away from the linings.
