Abstract

1481322 Skinless sausages VISKASE Ltd 7 Oct 1975 [22 Oct 1974] 45620/74 Heading A2B A standard peeler A comprising a guide in shute 1 a channel 2, a knife (not shown) projecting into the channel and an idler roller 3 round which the slit casing is pulled, is bolted to the housing 10 of an apparatus B. Pinch rollers 14 and 15 mounted on shafts 16 and 17 are positioned above 10 so that when through the slit casing. In the gear train 19 driven in opposite directions the rollers pull the pulley 25 drives the shaft 16 which carries a first gear wheel 26 which in turn drives a first intermediate idler wheel 28. Wheel 28 drives a second intermediate gear wheel 29 and this wheel drives gear wheel 30 fast to shaft 17. In addition wheel 30 is mounted on an arm (31) pivoted at the centre (32) of wheel 29 to enable wheel 30, the shaft 17 and roller 15 to prove through a small arc about (32) and to enable 14 and 15 to be forced slightly apart. An electromagnetically operated brake mechanism 22 actuated by switch 23b enables the motor 18 to be stopped rapidly.
