Abstract

1480889 Washing food trays KUPPERBUSCH AG 4 Dec 1975 [6 Dec 1974] 49836/75 Heading A4F [ Also in Division B8] Carriers 4 on food trays 5, are discharged from the latter by being floated to the surface when the trays are conveyed into water in a tank 1. The carriers on the surface of the water are then subject to the action of laterally directed water jets (9), Fig. 3 (not shown) which direct them on to a conveyer 11. Further jets (10) assist in this operation. The carriers pass upwardly from the conveyer 11 to a conveyer 13. They are held from lateral deflection while on this conveyer by the spikes of a wheel 15, whilst yet further jets (14) cause discharge of food particles 16 in the carriers, on to an upwardly sloping conveyer 17. This conveys the food 16 to a container. (For Figure see next page)
